Spelzini & Luigi’s+

Luigi Spelzini came to London in the 1890s and quickly ingratiated himself into the local community by running the local fishmongers, and later a successful grocery store. 130 years later, his great grandson (Jim) named his business venture in his great grandfather’s honour. Spelzini and Luigi’s inhabit the same space at different times of the day – Spelzini by day, Luigi’s by night. They are the same person, showing their different personalities as the day wears on. Spelzini is a workers cafe, serving breakfast and lunch. Luigi’s Bar is where you let your hair down. Untitled were asked to created two separate, but visually linked, identities to represent these two personalities. These distinctive logotypes were then applied to signs, napkins and menus and is a ongoing project…
